A Class-D amplifier with analog sound

Primare has designed a brand new UFPD-2 amplifier module which provides all the necessary power and performance needed to create such an impressive power amplifier. The proprietary UFPD 2 (Ultra-Fast Power Device) technology eliminates almost all distortion and noise, while the advanced ventilation and cooling system keeps the amplifier cool and at optimal operating temperature.

The UFPD technology itself differs from traditional Class A, A/B or D amplifiers in that it uses a Class D amplifier topology and adds a high frequency modulator to reduce high levels of distortion. This means that the UFPD-2 has a very high efficiency of up to 90%, which means that less power is used and the amplifier produces less heat. Another benefit of the UFPD-2 is that it is also capable of delivering incredible amperage, even at low impedances, meaning it can drive even the most demanding speakers with ease.

This results in a natural, fast, clean and smooth sound over an ultra-wide frequency range and exceptional headroom.

It should be no secret that we at Lydspecialisten are deeply impressed by what Primare has managed to squeeze out of this, to say the least, fabulous amplifier. When you add to that Primare's sublime build quality and their know-how in circuit technology, it ends up with one thing - world-class sound. Nothing less. The price may indicate otherwise, but that's actually how it's always been with Primare. To that extent, you get something for your money here.

The A35.2 is undoubtedly Primare's best power amplifier to date, and it is significantly better than their previous reference A60, which is still excellent. The A35.2 is just on another level in terms of sound. It delivers such an elegant, resolved and nuanced sound that it can take on the very heavy and much more expensive amplifiers on the market. But at a price that is more than reasonable when you take the performance into account. Here we are talking about thoroughbred high-end at a price where the majority of enthusiasts and those interested in music can join. We will be very surprised if the A35.2 does not win an EISA award - just like its smaller sibling in Primare's latest product series. The A35.2 is a shockingly good power amplifier to say the least.
